William “Bill” Jerry Begley, age 95 passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at the Homestead Assisted Living Center in Owasso. The family will have a private interment at Highland Cemetery in Oilton. A Celebration of Life service will be held on 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Silver City Free Will Baptist Church.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Oilton, Oklahoma.
Bill was born June 5, 1917 in the Silver City area to William Jerry Begley and Emma Ruth (Baker) Begley. He attended Sand Creek School near Silver City. In 1936 the family moved to the Jennings area.
He married Catherine Alvara Green on October 11, 1937 in Oilton. They farmed and raised cattle, pigs, chickens and horses. In October 1949, he went to work for Sinclair Oil and Gas Plant in Drumright and retired there from then Atlantic Richfield in May 1980.
After his retirement they spent several winters in Arizona enjoying the milder climate.
Bill is survived by his six children, Homer and Glenda Begley of Jennings, Betty and Edd Burk of Silver City, Donna and John Scott of Oilton, Nancy and Robert Beaver of Owasso, Linda and Allen Hausner of Drumright, and Kathy Begley of Drumright, 12 grandchildren Sherry (Begley) and Gary Doll of Yale, John Burk of Oilton, Jerry and Piper Begley of Jennings, Gary and Chris Begley of Silver City, Misti (Burk) and Bryan Floyd of Silver City, Krystal (Hausner)) and Gregg Engle of Durant, Jason and Christine Scott of El Paso, TX., Jennifer (Hausner) and Russell Lewis of Newcastle, Amy Scott of Peoria, Il., Robin (Beaver) and Rusty Low of Owasso, Jessica (Beaver) and Adam North of Owasso, Sarah Hausner of Oklahoma City, nineteen great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine in 2002; both his parents; one brother and sister-in-law, Hershel Begley and Evelyn Begley; and two grandsons Timmy and Jimmy Begley,, granddaughter-in-law LaDonna Burk.
Family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m.
